Gilgamesh introduces new super food menu

Acclaimed Head Chef Ian Pengelley unveils a new ‘Super Food’ menu at Gilgamesh. Available from February 2012, it will feature health boosting ingredients such as Collagen, Wheatgrass, Manuka Honey, Black Rice and Seaweed.
Wave goodbye to a cupboard full of pills and potions, Gilgamesh has the latest health fix for both the body and mind, on a plate! The menu includes:
Tomato and Cardamon Clear Soup with Collagen (£6.50) - the benefits of Collagen have long been recognised as being hugely popular, in particular with individuals wanting more youthful and flawless skin.
Avocado and Wheatgrass Shot (£5.50) – Avocado is an excellent source of Carotenoid Lutein. Lutein is capable of preventing macular degeneration and cataracts, which are age-related eye diseases.
Grilled Salmon, Wilted Spinach and Wheatgrass Sprout Salad and Ginger Sauce (£18.00) - Wheatgrass is another great ingredient used within Pengelley’s menu, containing large concentrations of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants; this detoxifies the body boosting blood circulation and metabolism, whilst also enhancing digestion which can reduce stress and excess fat in the body.
Seared Salmon Sashimi Salad, Mixed leaves and Linseed Oil Dressing (£9.00) - one of the most potent sources of Omega 3 fatty acids found in nature, Linseed has a whole host of health benefits, and best of all, these benefits apply to everyone. It is renowned for its ability to improve the texture and quality of the skin, and will also alleviate skin conditions that are caused by the lack of Omega 3 fatty acids in the diet.
Black Rice with Shimeji Mushroom Risotto and Truffles (14.50) - Black Rice is one of the newest super foods, with just one spoonful containing more health-promoting antioxidants than a spoonful of blueberries, packed full of fibre and vitamin E.
Manuka Honey with Miso Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, Grilled with Umeboshi Plum (£25) - in addition to tasting great, Active Manuka Honey may be used to treat many internal and external medical conditions. Honey was used to treat infected wounds as long as 2000 years ago.
Seaweed, Moss Salad with Sesame Seed and Peanut Dressing (£11.00) - packed with vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids, Seaweed is packed full of essentials, to maintain healthy and youthful skin and body.
Stunning Pan-Asian restaurant Gilgamesh has created an entire ‘Super Food’ menu dedicated to improving not only your health on the outside, but also on the inside. All of the dishes on the menu contain one or more of the super foods, which have been claimed to improve one’s skin and health.
This new food wave has now hit London and promises to become the most interesting and healthy trend of 2012, especially with post Christmas blues setting in!
