The 13th Reykjavik Gay Pride will be part sponsored by Iceland Express this year, strengthening the airline's on-going support for the LGBT community.

Running from the 9 - 12 August 2012, the event attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually and the celebration is becoming widely renowned as one of the world's best prides.

Iceland Express' crew will be donning rainbow scarves and ties in the preceding weeks and during the extended weekend to celebrate the LGBT community and cement the airline's membership of the International Lesbian & Gay Travel Association (ILGTA).

"We are extremely proud to support one of Iceland's premier events and will continue our support of the LGBT community in Iceland and globally," says Heimir Már Pétursson, Iceland Express' Public Relations Manager.

"This year's pride event will be bigger and better than ever. We are encouraging the global community to enjoy all that our wonderful city of Reykjavik has to offer and will be flying out of the UK from Edinburgh, Stansted and Gatwick for summer 2012," he added.

This year's pride will include a concert at the new Harpa event hall, a cruise from Reykjavik's old harbour, a family-friendly rainbow festival and of course, the main pride parade which starts at 2pm on Saturday 11 August 2012.

Iceland Express offers one-way flights from London Gatwick to Reykjavik from just £79 which includes all taxes, surcharges, check-in, seat allocation, a 20kg bag in the hold and 10kg hand luggage. Iceland Express do not charge extra for flights booked on a debit card.
