Longest warranty in the UK bags Autocar award for Kia
The new Kia cee’d scooped a major honour at this year’s Autocar awards, three months before it hits UK showrooms. The new car will launch in 2007 with an industry-leading seven year 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty which grabbed the attention of the Autocar judges. The ‘Idea of the Year’ award was presented to Jean-Charles Lievens, Senior Vice President at Kia Motors Europe at an award ceremony in Weybridge, Surrey.

Saab calls on UK Government to boost Biofuels
Saab Great Britain has this week launched its second flex-fuel car, capable of running on eco-friendly renewable fuel source bioethanol E85, in the UK – the Saab 9-5 2.3t BioPower, which cuts fossil CO2 emissions by up to 70 per cent when running on bioethanol compared to when running on petrol. This car joins the existing Saab 9-5 2.0t BioPower, first deliveries of which began back in March, in the same week that Morrisons supermarket opened the UK’s first bioethanol E85 refuelling points across the UK.

Saab’s 9-5 2.3t BioPower goes on sale
The Saab 9-5 2.3t BioPower cuts fossil CO2 emissions by up to 70 per cent whilst delivering maximum power of 210 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. That is 14 per cent more power and 11 per cent more torque when running on eco-friendly bioethanol E85 fuel compared to when running on petrol. Sounds too good to be true? Well it’s not – the Saab 9-5 2.3t BioPower goes on sale in the UK next week (Monday 20 November), with on-the-road (OTR) prices starting at £23,270.
