The Clio Renaultsport 197 is already being hailed by many as the undisputed small hot hatch class benchmark, but Renault’s performance arm has already sought to move the game onto the next level with the launch of the eagerly-anticipated Clio Renaultsport F1 Team R27. This new limited edition is also the first Clio Renaultsport 197 to feature the new Cup Chassis, which will become optional on the standard model later in 2007.

Alongside the New Twingo and the Clio Grand Tour concept, Renault also chose the 2007 Geneva Motor Show as the backdrop for the unveiling of its latest weapon in the battle for hot hatch domination, with the introduction of its first high performance diesel, the Megane Renaultsport dCi 175. Pricing for the new range has now been confirmed, starting at £18,950 and rising to £20,850.

Renault’s second-generation Twingo will make its UK debut in September – but it won’t be Renault’s entry model. Renault isn’t pitching Twingo as a cheap car in eth UK – instead it’ll be billed as a sporty hatchback with a range of just two models – the GT and Dynamique, with 75bhp and 100bhp 1.2-litre petrol engines.
