The Renault Scénic, the car which created the compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) sector ten years ago, continues to ride high in the UK sales charts, so to ensure that it stays that way, a new special edition has been created, based on the best-selling, mid-range Dynamique model, called Dynamique S and priced from £16,620. Renault launches new Trafic and Master ranges
With the launch of several new and revised competitors in recent months, Europe’s number one van brand has revised both of its large vans, Trafic and Master. The one millionth Scénic II has just rolled off of the production line in Douai, France – less than three years since its launch. Its timing also offers cause for a double celebration, as 2006 represents the tenth anniversary of the launch of the original Mégane Scénic - the car which trailblazed the compact-MPV sector in 1996 and has topped the European MPV sales charts every year for the last 10 years.
Renault offers the future today for company car drivers
The government has declared a new CO2 emissions incentive for the benefit in kind (BIK) tax on company cars from 2008/09 meaning cars with CO2 emissions of 120g/km or below will have the tax level lowered by 5% to 10% of the retail price instead of 15% (or 13% instead of 18% for diesels). This has led the Government to believe that the challenge is on for manufacturers to produce cars that not only meet these emissions but are also attractive particularly to the fleet market where a car of reasonable size and cost is of paramount importance. Luckily, Renault’s fleet customers don’t have to wait three years; the future is already here, with 28 cars in Renault’s range already emitting 120g/km or less – including the only-non hybrid medium sized car on the market.
