Hard Rock Cafes set to premiere AC/DC’s new album
Hard Rock International has announces that all four Hard Rock Cafes in the UK are set to host official Fan-Only Listening Parties for the eagerly awaited new AC/DC album Black Ice! In conjunction with Sony BMG, the listening parties will take place between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday 16 October at Hard Rock Cafe London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff and will give over 500 fans an exclusive preview of the 15 brand new tracks by the world’s biggest rock act.

Cinderella On Ice
The world-famous Imperial Ice Stars, who have won international critical acclaim and five-star reviews with their previous tours of The Sleeping Beauty on Ice and Swan Lake on Ice, are set to thrill UK audiences once more with their brand new production, Cinderella On Ice, commencing a national UK tour in October 2008 including a Christmas season at Wales Millennium Centre.
The Queen to mark Blue Peter's 50th birthday
Her Majesty The Queen has invited Blue Peter to a special birthday tea at Buckingham Palace to mark the 50th anniversary of the BBC's landmark children's programme. During the event Her Majesty will recognise four very special Blue Peter viewers, who will be given the surprise of their life when presenters Helen, Joel and Andy turn up at their doorstep and invite them to take tea with The Queen.

English National Ballet returns with The Sleeping Beauty
Following the huge success of The Sleeping Beauty revival in 2005, English National Ballet will once again perform MacMillan’s classic production in Autumn and Winter 2008/2009. The Company will also perform the Royal Danish Ballet’s production of MacMillan’s Manon. This will be the first time English National Ballet has performed Manon in its history, and the first time the production has toured the UK for over 20 years.
Sunshine, a new drama on BBC One
Sunshine is a three-part drama co-written by Craig Cash and Phil Mealey, the team behind the BBC's hit comedy Early Doors, and co-writers of the BAFTA award-winning The Royle Family. Starring Steve Coogan (I'm Alan Partridge, Saxendale), Bernard Hill (Lord Of The Rings) and Lisa Millett (Drop Dead Gorgeous, Blackpool), Sunshine is the bittersweet story of three generations of the Crosby family.

Manchester hosts series of Indian Music Concerts
Milapfest, the UK's premier South Asian Arts Development Trust and the Bridgewater Hall have announced the launch of a brilliant new Indian Music concert series in Manchester. The series, entitled 'Music for the Mind and Soul', will be a monthly feature at the Bridgewater Hall showcasing the very best in young Indian music from both India and the UK.
People ‘losing it’ over call centre encounters
According to a Losing It survey, commissioned for BBC Headroom, 26% of people rated call centre hold-ups their number one pet hate – and it was mentioned as an irritant by 75% of all those questioned. Telephonic delays even ranked above being physically attacked, which follows closely behind in the anger stakes, with 23% rating it their number one.
Miley Cyrus to headline first live event for BBC Switch
The BBC's multi-platform teen brand BBC Switch will host its first live event, BBC Switch Live, on Sunday 12 October from 1.00 to 6.00pm at London's Hammersmith Apollo. The news was announced by Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1's Switch show.
