Aer Lingus & United Airlines' partnership takes flight

Aer Lingus and United Airlines have begun a codesharing agreement, enabling Aer Lingus customers' access to United Airlines network in North America from 01 November. From April 2009 Aer Lingus will place its code on United Airlines domestic flights, giving customers access to United's entire North American network.

Aer Lingus announces new Chairman

The Board of Directors of Aer Lingus Group plc today wishes to announce the appointment of Colm Barrington as Chairman of the Board. Mr Barrington will succeed John Sharman as Chairman. He will be appointed to the board in September and will then assume the role of Chairman.

Aer Lingus increases long haul fuel surcharge

Aer Lingus is to increase its long haul fuel surcharge on four of its long haul routes to the US, effective from Wednesday, 30th July 2008. This increase applies to the longer sector transatlantic routes operated by Aer Lingus and is as a result of the 50% increase in jet fuel spot prices since the beginning of the year. Surcharges on New York, Boston and Washington Dulles, the shorter sector services to the US, remain unchanged.

Aer Arann and Aer Lingus have signed an Interline Agreement that allows customers to directly connect to Aer Lingus transatlantic services from Cork Airport. From today, bookings can be made on aerlingus.com directly both to and from Cork to all seven Aer Lingus USA destinations in one single booking transaction.

Aer Lingus announce short haul winter schedule from Dublin

Aer Lingus has announced its short haul winter schedule for 2008 from Dublin with a new twice weekly service to the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, along with new winter services to Hamburg and the re-introduction of Newcastle, Salzburg and Agadir.

Aer Lingus to fly to Moscow for Champions League Final

Aer Lingus has announced that it will operate a special one off flight to Moscow (Sheremetyevo airport) for Irish football fans wishing to travel to the 2008 Champions League Final. The service will operate on Wednesday 21st May from Dublin and Thursday 22nd May from Moscow to bring passengers to and from the match.
