Zoom Airlines suspends operations
Zoom Airlines has suspended operations with effect from 19:00 hrs on Thursday 28 August 2008. Both Zoom Airlines Inc and Zoom Airlines Ltd, the Canadian and UK airlines, have started administration proceedings in their home countries. All Zoom flights have been cancelled and aircraft grounded.
United Express announces New Portland service
United Airlines has announced a new United Express service between Portland and both Klamath Falls, Oregon and North Bend, Oregon, beginning October 12. The service is now open for sale.

Virgin Atlantic is working with footwear and accessories company Worn Again on an innovative new project which will see the airline recycling aircraft seat covers to create desirable new fashion accessories. The collaboration has contributed to Worn Again developing a range of unique bags by recycling disused materials such as car seat belts, bicycle tyres and aircraft seat covers.
Ryanair announces biggest ever ski schedule
Ryanair has announced its biggest-ever winter ski programme with the launch of its 2008/09 schedule containing 101 routes, a 40% increase in the number of routes it operated in its 2007/08 programme. Ryanair has extended this year's schedule until Saturday 18 April 2009 to include next year’s Easter holidays.

Virgin Atlantic announces special fares for Zoom passengers
Following the news that Zoom Airlines has suspended operations, Virgin Atlantic is offering stranded Zoom passengers special one way fares on selected routes between London and the US. Virgin Atlantic is offering Zoom ticket holders special one way fares in Economy from London Heathrow to New York, Boston and Washington for £199; from London Heathrow to Miami and Chicago for £219; from London Gatwick to Orlando for £219; and from London Heathrow to Los Angeles for £249.

Ryanair reports 100% growth for Malta
Ryanair has published its inbound passenger numbers for Malta for the first six months of 2008. Ryanair grew its passenger numbers by over 100% in the first six months of 2008, when compared with the corresponding period in 2007. During 2008, Ryanair has grown its first half year figures from 47,504 (recorded in the first six months of 2007) to 95,917 inbound passengers.
