Madrid becomes 17th easyJet base
Andy Harrison, easyJet’s Chief Executive, today officially opens easyJet’s 17th base at Madrid’s Barajas airport. The airline expects to carry over two million passengers from Madrid in 2007 on 18 routes - three domestic, thirteen European and two to North Africa.
Aer Lingus to reduce fuel surcharges on long haul flights
Aer Lingus is to reduce long haul fuel surcharges by 25% on all tickets booked for flights to and from the US and the Middle East from midnight on the 12th February 2007. The fuel surcharge reduction represents a decrease of €10/US$15 each way and comes as a result of decreasing international oil prices.

bmi to start direct service to Brussels
Aberdeen-based bmi regional, officially the UK’s most punctual and reliable airline, today announces another new international air route from Aberdeen. Icelandair wins Best Website Design award
Icelandair (icelandair.co.uk) has claimed a top spot in the annual Technology for Marketing (TFM) Awards, held in London on 6th February. The airline, which operates flights between 23 gateways in the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada*, was voted Best Website Design of the Year by the panel of six industry experts, and beat companies including Odeon and Orange to first place.
Solomon Airlines introduce new Honiara to Fiji route
From 24th February 2007, Solomon Airlines will introduce direct scheduled services between the Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands and Nadi, the main airport of Fiji.
SAS launches new route from Stockholm to Bangkok
Both business and leisure travelers are showing widespread interest in Bangkok. Therefore, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will launch a new route from Stockholm to Bangkok at the end of October 2007. This route will be operated three times a week in both directions in addition to the already existing service between Copenhagen and Bangkok.
