easyJet's latest customer satisfaction survey has revealed that the airline's newest base – London Southend Airport – has topped a survey of customer satisfaction across its European airports. More than 26,000 passengers were surveyed with London's newest airport recording an overall satisfaction score of 92%.

The survey which was conducted among passengers across easyJet's European network, asked travellers to rate their satisfaction on key factors such as the check-in process, boarding procedures, overall satisfaction with the airport and friendliness of airport staff.

The research showed that 95% were satisfied with the airport, 98% were satisfied with the length of time at check in and 100% of passengers were satisfied with the efficiency of check-in staff. The punctuality of easyJet's flights from London Southend also featured highly.

Hugh Aitken, easyJet's UK Commercial Manager commented: "We are thrilled that our passengers are so happy with the service that easyJet is delivering from London Southend Airport. It's testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the operation here.

"We opened our base and operations at London Southend Airport because passenger convenience and excellent service delivery is at the heart of its design and we are confident that we'll keep levels of customer satisfaction flying high."

Since the launch of operations at London Southend on 2 April 2012, easyJet has flown over half a million passengers to popular leisure and business destinations such as Barcelona, Faro, Belfast, Majorca, Jersey and Geneva providing an easy and affordable alternative to those who are looking to escape the crowds of the larger London airports.

Alastair Welch, Managing Director at London Southend Airport commented: "Our Southend team works hard to ensure we deliver on our commitments to passengers – that they should wait no more than 4 minutes to go through security and that, on arrival with hand baggage they should be on the rail station platform within 15 minutes of leaving the aircraft. With the choice of up to 8 trains an hour to Liverpool Street - or the current offer of free long stay parking in January and February when booked online - we hope even more passengers will choose to come and experience London's newest airport. We designed our new facilities to be ‘simply easier' and we are thrilled that so many of easyJet's passengers agree."

Small but perfectly formed with customer convenience and ease in mind, London Southend's charm and success lies in the simplicity it provides. Passengers can make it from plane to train or car in just a few minutes, and its bijou on site shop provides plenty of choice for those wishing to indulge in some airport shopping pre-flight.
