VIN2O is a new online wine retailer with a mission; sell good wine and use the profits to raise money for Pump Aid – a charity working to supply clean water to rural communities in Africa.
There’s no subscription fee and no annual membership, just cases of fine wines as and when you order them. Wine-lovers can enjoy the selections of wine delivered to them while raising money for a fantastic cause. For Christmas purchases and gifts, Vin2o has launched six- and a 12-bottle mixed cases containing a specially selected collection of sparkling wines, reds, whites and sherries – all handpicked with care from smaller producers and cooperatives, always with an eye on sustainable and ethical standards.
The six-bottle Christmas Lunch Case, priced at £62.50 plus delivery, contains one bottle of Terre di S Alberto Prosecco, one Bella Luna PX Sherry, two Humberto Canale Patagonia, Estate Pinot Noir (2013) and two Viña Leyda, Falaris Hill Vineyard, Chardonnay (2013).
Priced at £143 plus delivery, the Festive Season Dozen case includes one Torello Reserve Brut Special Edition Cava, one Terre di Alberto Prosecco, Domain de Barroubio, one Muscat de Saint Jean Minervois (2013), one d’Arenbery Vintage Fortified Shiraz (2007), two bottles of Martin Meinert La Barry Red (2011) and Les Vignobles Andre Lurton Chateau Bonnet Red (2011), as well as two bottles of Yealands Gruner Veltliner (2103) and to Ken Forrester Wines Chenin Blanc Reserve (2013).
For every purchase made on the website, VIN2O donates a percentage of profits to Pump Aid, chosen as the partner charity as it specialises in providing water pumps to smaller, harder to reach communities, often ignored by larger organisations. It provides clean water to communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and since 1998 it has installed more than 8500 pumps providing clean water to over 1.25 million people. Today the charity works mostly in Malawi where it is estimated that 2.4 million people do not have access to clean water.
In addition to the Christmas cases, Vin2o offers reds, whites, sparkling and sweet wines with the option of single bottles, cases of six and 12 bottles, giving wine-lovers the chance to buy quality wines from independent producers who are passionate about their products, consider their impact on the environment and are ethical in their operations.
