Balti Wines Cruises To Deal With P&O Ferries

7th March 2007 Print
Balti Wines Balti Wine has cruised to a deal to supply P&O Ferries with its range of wines that are specially blended to accompany spicy food. The deal means the Manchester-based company will be slating the thirst of passengers travelling from the UK to its four key destinations: Calais, Bilbao, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.

P&O Ferries boasts the largest fleet of ships offering a wide range of services and facilities, the most comprehensive route network and the most frequent passenger and freight services to the Continent. The deal means Balti Wines expects to supply approximately 30,000 bottles to P&O Ferries over the next 12 months.

The deal was secured when Ashraf Sharif, principal, of Balti Wines, which is based in Newton Heath, discovered that the cruise ships run ‘Balti nights’ for its passengers complete with Bollywood-style dancers and entertainment. He says:

“I discovered that they held these Balti nights for their passengers and seized the opportunity. It’s a major coup for us to secure a deal with such a well known player in the marketplace. Our business strategy of opening up new revenue streams through such contracts is working well.”

Balti Wine produces a range of fine wines created to accompany spicy food. The company has sold over one million bottles to restaurants and wholesalers worldwide since 2004.
