White Wine Magic At Waitrose Bordeaux leader, Dourthe is promoting its Dourthe N°1 Sauvignon Blanc 2006 at Waitrose from 12 September to 9 October. Described by Dourthe as having “ample structure with attractive acidity”, Dourthe N°1 Sauvignon Blanc 2006 is a triumph for this Bordeaux brand exuding typical fresh Sauvignon character, lots of fruit, freshness and balance.

Furthermore, from 12 September to 9 October, Waitrose will be offering Dourthe’s zesty N°1 Sauvignon Blanc 2006 at an incredible £4.79 a bottle, down £1.20 from its recommended retail price of £5.99.

Produced from grapes grown in cool clay-limestone vineyards to the north of Bordeaux which are best suited to the production of Sauvignon Blanc, this 100% varietal was made using maceration on the skins followed by cold temperature fermentation. Maturation on the lees for an additional 6 months has extracted additional depth and intensity with perfect balance and refreshing acidity.

Bottled with a Stelvin (screw cap) closure, this lively, affordable white Bordeaux has all the hallmarks of a well made, approachable wine which is at home on a picnic, as an aperitif in the garden or at a formal dinner for friends.

For 4 weeks only, Waitrose shoppers will have access to one of the most consistent, well made white Bordeaux brands on the market today. With the shadows getting longer and autumn setting in, it’s time to toast the last rays of summer with this delicious Sauvignon Blanc.
