L’Olivier Launch White Wine With A Conscience

23rd August 2007 Print
L'Olivier, the new white Free Run Wines is launching a new white wine from L’Olivier. Following the success of the Syrah Mourvedre from the heart of Minervois, Free Run Wines is now offering a second organic wine. Like the original red L'Olivier, the new white is made exclusively from organically grown grapes (Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Muscat Petits Grains) and supports the Tropical Forest Trust (TFT).

L'Olivier translated as ‘Olive Tree’ is produced at the Andrieu Frères estate in Southern France. A donation is made to the TFT from the sale of each bottle of L’Olivier, raising funds to ensure that tropical forests are managed for their long-term future and to maximise their value to people, wildlife and the global environment. To strengthen this link, L’Olivier features a recyclable closure, and the labels and packaging are made from recycled paper.

Nicolas Bauer, Director of Free Run Wines explains: “As a company we feel a strong responsibility towards the global environment we live in. People are becoming more and more aware of what they can do to protect the environment and L’Olivier helps promote a global cause.”

L’Olivier Roussanne Grenache Blanc will be available from September. L’Olivier Syrah Mourvedre is available in Booths at £4.99.

• L’Olivier is produced by Andrieu Freres. The Andrieu family has been making organic wine on the 110 hectare vineyard since 2003
