Beef up Christmas with an Argentinean red

Beef up Christmas with an Argentinean red Are you fed up with trying to cook the perfect turkey each Christmas? No matter how much you spend on a good quality organic free range bird, is it still a bit of a disappointment? Laureano Gomez, winemaker for Argentinean brand Salentein, suggests going Argentinean this Christmas, with a traditional rib of roast beef. “In Argentina we eat a lot of beef, and I can think of no better dish than a beautiful succulent rib of roast beef to grace the table on Christmas Day.”

To ensure that it pleases all traditionalists out there, make sure you serve it with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, horseradish, Brussel sprouts, parsnips and oodles of proper beef gravy.

The perfect wine to drink with it – Argentinean of course – Salentein Malbec, is available in Tesco at £8.49. Recently voted one of the top 5 Malbecs from Argentina to have with meat at the recent ‘Malbec Made for Meat’ competition, the wine has great intensity of colour with ripe blackberries and reds fruits on the nose. The palate is rich, velvety and is packed full of mouth-watering fruit flavours, the ripeness of which is held up by fine supple tannins.
