Find your way to Britain’s vineyards
A new, fully-revised map of English and Welsh vineyards has been produced by the UK wine industry. An ideal accompaniment for the wine enthusiast, the map shows the location of 163 of the country’s leading vineyards, with cross referenced listings by county, full contact details (with postcodes for easy location), websites and a brief description.Additionally each vineyard is colour coded for easy reference, identifying those that are open to visitors; not open and not yet in production. Apart from being an essential tourist guide, the map is a useful educational and marketing tool for wine merchants and wine lecturers alike.
The back of the map contains valuable at-a-glance background information such as wine styles and grape varieties, and colourful advertisements from a selection of the featured vineyards outlining the many facilities that are now available.
“We are delighted to offer such a useful and comprehensive visual guide for the English and Welsh wine industry,” commented Julia Trustram Eve of English Wine Producers (EWP), the marketing association for the UK wine industry. “We have had so many requests for something illustrative on the industry from the trade, the press and above all consumers from both here and abroad, and now we can provide a useful tool to finding out more about vineyards in the UK. Now you can start planning your summer visits!”
The map was compiled and produced by English Wine Producers in conjunction with the United Kingdom Vineyards Association and the Wine Guild of the United Kingdom. It is supplied free of charge and will initially be distributed via the EWP website, vineyards and key tourist information offices. It will be officially launched at the EWP Trade & Press Tasting on 23rd April in London.
