Jacob’s Creek named top winery Jacob’s Creek has been named the number one winery in the world for 2008 based on the wines receiving 219 awards at major shows around the world in 2007/08.

In the survey by the World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ), Jacob’s Creek took out the top award for 2008 ahead of United States wineries V.Sattui and Gallo, ranked two and three respectively.

Jacob’s Creek wines picked up gold medals at prestigious shows such as Challenge International du Vin (France), the Selections Mondiale (Canada), and the San Francisco International Wine Challenge.

Undoubtedly Australia’s best-known wine brand, Jacob’s Creek holds the pole position in global sales among Australian wine brands. It was a pioneer in presenting Australian wine to the world market. The history of Jacob's Creek can be traced back to 1847, when its founder Johann Gramp planted the first commercial vineyard in South Australia’s now highly esteemed Barossa Valley.
