Following on from the phenomenal success of the gorgeous glass tiles, cutting edge glass art and design company, Rupert Scott, has launched a range of inspiring splashbacks for the kitchen – certain to make any kitchen unique, individual and stylish.

Rupert Scott has a knack of taking everyday functional items throughout the home and turning them into functional pieces of art using the unusual kiln-fusing techniques. Splashbacks are primarily installed to protect the wall from splashes. The splashbacks from Rupert Scott carry out this function, being easily wiped clean and simultaneously create a real wow factor in any kitchen.

The splashbacks are available in five different series, Stripe, Colonsay, Lazio, Spiral and Earth.

Stripe
The range of contemporary Stripe designs feature zingy, fresh colours, which can be installed horizontally or vertically depending on the effect required. Stripe is available in offerings like Liquorice, black and white stripes, Lush, lots of vibrant greens and Salsa, rich reds, oranges and greens.

Spiral
The spiral series is a range of different coloured spirals set within the glass. There is a choice of both pastel designs and stronger, more vibrant options to fit in with every interior.

Earth
The Earth series consists of rich, natural colours that are designed specifically to complement and contrast with natural materials in the kitchen such as wood and natural stones including granite, slate and limestone. Inspiration comes entirely from the great outdoors and results in deep, robust designs such as Sand, Red Granite and Moss.

Lazio
The funky Lazio designs were born from a trip to Rome and the surrounding area. The Lazio range features clear glass with different fragments captured inside. This idea came from the beautiful mosaics used throughout Italian architecture.

Colonsay
The beautiful, rugged, remote island off the west coast of Scotland has inspired the Colonsay range. The island, far from being bleak is home to beautiful ancient Celtic standing stones, dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and rare wildlife and botany. The designs include vivid tones such as Lagoon and Anemone and softer hues such as Coral and Sea Urchin.

Installing a Rupert Scott splashback transforms the kitchen from an ordinary, run-of-the-mill room, into a unique, individual, cutting edge space. With the wealth of designs available, there is something to suit every room and each individual. The combination of rich, vibrant colours, the versatility of glass and Steve’s innovative designs, results in an intriguing, effervescent, tactile and textured product.

Each time you enter a kitchen containing a Rupert Scott design, a different picture will appear before you as the bubbles and texture in the glass interact with the light in the room, highlighting different colours, areas and features of the design. Different times throughout the day will create varying effects on the tiles as the light changes from sunlight to artificial light. Many specialised lighting option like halogen down-lighters can make the glass designs really sparkle, creating the perfect ambience for entertaining in the home.

The Splashbacks are fully made to measure and are available to a maximum of 1m x 1.5m per piece, with any dimensions in between possible. Even though the Splashbacks can be ordered from a ‘catalogue’ of images, Rupert Scott offers a personal, caring service with lengthy consultation with Steve Robinson, Creative Director to ascertain exactly what is needed, and a personal delivery and fitting service, removing uncertainty and worry from fitting and transporting glass products. Taps and electrical sockets can be accommodated with precision cut-outs (at extra cost). The depth, or thickness, of the splashback depends on the particular design chosen.
