Liebherr win "Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2007" The winners have been announced for the 2007, Kitchen Innovation of the Year awards, and Liebherr has triumphed. The awards put on jointly by The German Federal Ministry of Economics & Technology, and the “Better Living” initiative, heighten consumer awareness of innovation and quality.

Based on a two-stage selection procedure a jury manned by experts from the kitchen and design sector identified the most innovative products for; technical function, safety, innovativeness, ergonomic function, ease of use, aesthetic function and finally design.

In a survey conducted by a market research institute, the consumers then singled out the 3 best products in each category that in turn receive a Gold, Silver or bronze award.

In the Electrical appliances (cooling) category, Liebherr’s build in ICBN 3066 fridge freezer was presented with a Gold award. On top of achieving first prize, Liebherr went on to claim a Silver award too, for the build in IKB 3454 larder fridge for the new and improved versatility of the interior fitments.

Both award-winning appliances are BioFresh models with a temperature just above 0°C and a relative, adjustable humidity between 45% and 90%. Many types of food can be kept fresh significantly longer than in a conventional refrigerator compartment. Furthermore, both appliances come with the SoftSystem to cushion movement when the door is closed, plus the door closes automatically from an angle of about 30°. The economical energy efficiency class A+ is achieved by combining state-of-the-art electronics with a highly efficient refrigeration system.
