easyBus to open Stansted to central London route
easyBus offers a high frequency, low cost express bus service between Central London and Luton Airport and, from the 7th of June 2007, between Central London and Stansted Airport. Both services offer one way fares starting at £2 for those passengers who book online and in advance, with one-way fares rising to £7 on Stansted and £8 on Luton for last minute bookings or seats purchased at the airports. Return fares are available and are purchased as two one-way fares at the prevailing prices at the time of purchase.
Stansted Airport will be linked to Central London, arriving at Baker Street. Return services from London to Stansted will depart from nearby Gloucester Place. The Stansted easyBus route will operate with over 40 services each way a day using the fleet of Mercedes Sprinter minibuses, wrapped in their highly distinctive orange easyBus livery.
The current Luton easyBus service offers 40 services a day each way to Central London, arriving at Baker Street and departing from Gloucester Place. This service uses the fleet of orange liveried Mercedes Sprinter minibuses. But from 27th May 2007, in conjunction with Greenline Coaches, this route will be extended to London Victoria and the frequency increased to over 60 services a day each way as the orange liveried easyBus minibuses make way for a mixed fleet of green liveried Greenline and orange liveried easyBus full size, 50 seat coaches.
"Flights to Luton and Stansted are usually great value, but onward transport can be relatively expensive," said Stelios the serial entrepreneur and founder of easyBus. "So I am delighted to be introducing an easyBus service between Stansted and Central London in order to keep giving consumers more value for less. I hope we will launch more routes between airports and city centres in the near future," he concluded.
