easyJet’s Dortmund service takes off
easyJet, Europe's leading low-fares airline, will today welcome passengers on board its inaugural flight from Edinburgh to Dortmund. The four times weekly service to Dortmund will now offer even more choice for our Scottish passengers, offering a gateway to North Rhine Westphalia region, featuring cities like Dusseldorf and Cologne.With great low fares starting from £24.99 one way (including tax), forward sales are strong with over 50,000 passengers expected to travel in the first year.
Dortmund is a lively city, famous for two things: Football and beer. The city's football team, Borrussia Dortmund, has been national champion in German's Bundesliga on a number of occasions as well as winning the UEFA champions league. Home games are played at the breath taking Westfalonstadion, the largest football stadium in Germany.
For those who like their beer, Dortmund is Germany's second largest producer, you can sample some of the excellent local brews at the city’s two breweries.
It is also a major European crossroad on Germany’s extensive autobahn system. Stretching over 12,000km it is the third largest network of its kind in the world and offers easy access to the region and surrounding countries.
