easyJet launches Luton to Zurich service

19th September 2007 Print
easyJet, Europe’s leading low-fares airline, today launched a new twice daily service to Zurich, with fares from just £27.99 one way. The airline expects to carry more than 160,000 passengers on the route over the next 12 months.

Many assume Zurich is just a ski gateway for accessing some of the most famous ski resorts in the world such as Laax and Engelberg, but dashing straight off to the slopes can mean missing out on this picturesque city also famed for its shopping and festive markets. Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and a major contemporary art centre, with the magnificent fine arts museum, Kunsthaus, which is home to the large-scale Georgia O’Keeffe’s 74-painting collection.

You can spend days exploring the narrow alleyways of the old town, peeking into the tiny boutiques spread along both sides of the Limmat River or experience the vibrant nightlife and traditional cuisine as the rhythmic tunes of Oompha bands fill the night air.

Paul Cable, easyJet’s UK Market Manager, said:

“Zurich is not only a perfect ski gateway for reaching some of Europe’s top winter sports resorts. With its quaint old town, world famous shops, cultural attractions and a vibrant and sophisticated nightlife, this captivating city is also ideal for a romantic getaway.”
