Over 1 million fly easyJet this Christmas

easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, today revealed it would carry a record number of passengers this Christmas, with over a million travellers jetting off across the UK and Europe to spend time with their families or enjoy a holiday over the festive period.

The top five European destinations for the seasonal travellers are Geneva, Amsterdam, Malaga and Barcelona, proving that increasing numbers of people are looking to celebrate Christmas in the snowy Alps, whilst Spain is still the overall hotspot, with Alicante in a close fifth place.

Domestic travel has also seen an increase this year, with families and friends travelling home for the festivities, the most popular routes for Londoners are Scotland and Belfast, while Scots favour London, Belfast and Bristol.
