easyJet takes off from London Gatwick to Nantes

28th May 2008 Print
easyJet, Europe’s leading low-fares airline, launches its latest new route from London Gatwick to the French city of Nantes. The daily service is available from just £23.99 one way including tax.

Nantes, the sixth-largest city in France, is located in the Loire region of western France, some 50 kilometers from the Atlantic coast. A former commercial and maritime centre of Brittany, the city boasts a strong historical and cultural heritage. A climate of cool winters and warm summers makes a visit to Nantes a pleasant experience any time of year. The 1,000 hectares of beautiful public green parklands are linked by cobbled streets that guide you around this timeless city. The local seafood restaurants are famed for their great choice of ‘catch of the day’, particularly the oysters, which combined with the world famous local wines complete this culinary experience.

Picturesque Nantes is expected to be particularly popular as a city-break destination, as well as a base for exploring the Loire Valley and easyJet expects to carry 60,000 passengers on the new service in the first 12 months of operation.

David Osborne, easyJet’s UK General Manager, said:

“easyJet has seen a huge increase in flights to great short-break destinations this year, reinforcing easyJet’s position as the favourite airline for independent travellers, providing convenient low-cost flights from your local airport.”
