easyJet launches new East Midlands to Nice route

12th December 2008 Print
easyJet has announced that it is opening a new route from East Midlands to Nice, giving the region’s travellers an even greater choice of destinations from their local airport. The three times weekly service (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) to the South of France, will commence on 2 April 2009. Fares will be at a credit crunch busting £22.99 one way.

Nice is a sophisticated, cheerful and very exciting Mediterranean city with something very special about it’s atmosphere. The only way to get to know the real Nice is by strolling through the cobbled streets of the old town. You can also explore the varied shops of the modern centre; or simply sit in one of the many a café’s and watch the "Niçois" go about their business. If it’s relaxation you want Nice is the place to be!

Nice's charm comes from its exceptional climate as well as its beauty. The Promenade des Anglais is always in flower and this wonderful walk follows along the bay, looking out onto the Baie des Anges. At the heart of the French Riviera, Nice is also close to the glamorous destinations of Monaco and Cannes.

Carly Brear, easyJet’s commercial manager, said:

“Nice is a fantastic addition to our low-cost services from our East Midlands base and with our Summer 2009 flights also now on sale there has never been a better time to make sure you book Summer early and save big! It’s a destination with something for everyone, making it ideal for holiday-makers, city breakers and business passengers alike.

Penny Coates, Managing Director, East Midlands Airport said:

"We are delighted easyJet will be launching Nice from East Midlands Airport for summer 2009. It is pleasing to see that easyJet are continuing to grow their portfolio of destinations from East Midlands Airport. Nice is a beautiful short break destination and I am sure it will prove to be a great success."
