Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has this month launched Sapore, its latest dining outlet, a stylish Italian restaurant which was created at a cost of AED nine million to complement the resort’s existing restaurants.

Lead by Le Méridien Al Aqah’s Chef De Cuisine, David Miras, Sapore overlooks the Indian Ocean and offers a unique combination of contemporary and classical Italian cuisine, with a full range of beverages to bring out the exquisite taste of the dishes.

“Italian food is very popular with our guests and is already part of our international cuisine line-up at Views restaurant, so we developed an Italian restaurant to cater to this demand,” said Gian Raffaele Sabbatucci, Director of Food and Beverage, Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

“In particular we have included signature seafood dishes, such as Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio, because we want to be known as the best Italian seafood restaurant, with fresh fish and shellfish being key features,” added Sabbatucci.

Sapore, which is used to describe taste and flavor in Italian, lives up to its name with  a range of signature dishes to tempt any palate. Working with the restaurant’s specialist Italian chef, Dario Usai, Chef David has created a tempting lunch and dinner menu, ranging from simple starters and snacks to sophisticated dishes, such as date and gorgonzola ravioli.

“The millions invested in Sapore reflect our commitment to the continuous development of our products and services, following on from our extensive beach-front development in 2008. Sapore is an ideal venue for day-time visitors to the region, as well as our regular guests who stay at the resort for leisure and business,” said Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

Sapore’s design is contemporary, with light furnishings accentuating the natural beauty of the region and the natural light during the day. Diners can opt for al fresco dining, during the cooler months, or can dine indoors and enjoy the ambient music, with trendy Italian music at lunchtime and more classical music at dinner.

The majority of products have been painstakingly sourced from Italy, to ensure the cuisine is authentically Italian.  In particular, Sapore offers a wide variety of extra virgin olives oils which have been selected from Italian olive producers.  The restaurant is licensed, with an experienced sommelier on hand to offer advice about the best beverage to complement each dish.

Sapore is open daily for lunch, from 12pm to 3pm, and for dinner, from 7pm to 10:30pm.
