Barford pub to host first comedy night

The Granville @ Barford is hosting its first comedy night attracting three headline acts - Gary Delaney, Andy White and Sean Percival. All three star acts, who normally perform at major comedy clubs including Jongleurs, The Comedy Club and Glee Club, will perform at the award-winning dining pub on Sunday 31 January.
The winner of 'The Weakest Link Comedians Special' on BBC1, Andy White escaped from a call centre 6 years ago to become a stand up comic. Andy's humour embraces silly voices, funny faces, observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background. Andy has been described by The Guardian as “undeniably entertaining” and by Time Out Magazine as “oozes talent”.
Black Country comic Sean Percival is an ex-welder from Dudley whose act is steeped in the traditions of the working men’s clubs but with upfront attitude. Sean’s brand of comedy steers clear of the surreal and confronts realism in an explosively funny way. A circuit favourite, Sean has also performed at Edinburgh, Glastonbury and Reading Festivals. Sean has been described by What’s On Magazine as “his comedy is the comedy of honesty” and by The Guardian as “'had us curled up begging for more”.
Gary Delaney is a hard hitting, one-liner based comedian whose tightly-written, original material makes him one of the most quoted comics on the circuit. Respected by peers and audiences alike, his brilliant, razor-sharp and often dark lines win over any crowd and leave them struggling to remember all the ones they want to tell later. Gary works regularly at all the big clubs and has been described by The Daily Telegraph as "Razor sharp one-liners" and by the BBC online as “Delaney is the man Jimmy Carr wants to be”.
The compere for the evening will be Ryan Gough. Ryan performed his first gig in 2000 jumping up on a comedy club stage to deputise for his mate who 'bottled it' at the last minute. Ryan has now graduated to a regular circuit act, performing at every comedy club from Newcastle to Plymouth. Being 6 ft 5” and 19 stone with a shaved head, lazy eye and trademark black leather coat, Ryan can look scary and intimidating. However nothing can be further from the truth; Ryan's friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere. Described by Chortle.co.uk, Ryan 'quickly fires the room with energy'.
Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville @ Barford, stated “We’re delighted to be hosting our first comedy night and attracting three big names that only normally headline at the UK’s top comedy clubs. The evening should be highly entertaining and just what people need to cheer themselves up after Christmas!”
The Granville @ Barford is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 on the A429 sign-posted to Stow-on-the-Wold. Visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
