Prestige Holidays launches Newfoundland tour
Luxury tour operator, Prestige Holidays has launched a Newfoundland self-drive tour to coincide with the start of Air Canada's daily non-stop summer service to St John's starting on 28 May 2010.
The new service, with a flight time of less than five hours, makes it even easier for UK travellers to reach Canada and the spectacular province of Newfoundland and Prestige is confident it will generate considerable interest in the destination.
The operator's eight night self-drive “Newfoundland Sampler” tour costs from £1600 per person (based on a June departure) and takes in the key sites of the province including: the Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the highlights of any Canada trip. Part of the towering Long Range Mountains the park offers spectacular views and features plants found nowhere else in the world. The tour also takes in the Terra Nova National Park, Canada’s most easterly national park offering four hundred square kilometres of natural beauty and 14 hiking trails where visitors can see moose, lynx, beaver and birds.
A drive along the Trans-Canada Highway which travels through the endless miles of forest, lakes and wild rivers that make up central Newfoundland (moose country) is a highlight of the trip. Tiny causeways lead from one island to the other with the chance to see pods of whales and icebergs in summer. St John’s, one of North America’s most unique cities, is also on the itinerary.
Prestige's package includes: return flights on Air Canada from London Heathrow to St. John's, rental of a mid sized car (with unlimited mileage, LDW and taxes) and eight nights room only accommodation in standard hotels (three nights at the Quality Inn Harbourview, St John’s, one night at the Clode Sound Motel, Terra Nova NP, one night in the Anchor Inn, Twillingate, two nights in the Ocean View Hotel, Gros Morne NP and one night in St Christopher’s Hotel, Port aux Basques).
Prestige Holidays is featuring Canada and Alaska holidays for the first time in 2010. The operator is offering a diverse selection of stays ranging from city breaks and self drive itineraries to wildlife tours, wilderness lodge stays, rail journeys and Alaska cruises.
Holidays lead in at just £675 per person for a Toronto city break including: return flights, three nights four star accommodation, a city sightseeing tour and a trip to the spectacular Niagara Falls including lunch and a ride on the famous “Maid of the Mist” boat.
