The Cambrian voted one of the ‘Best Luxury Adventure Holidays’

12th October 2011 Print

The Cambrian, Adelboden has been independently voted among the ‘50 Best Luxury Adventure Holidays in the World’ for 2012 by AdventureTemples, an exciting new luxury adventure travel service and online community, with members worldwide.

Competition was fierce, with hundreds of destinations and thousands of hotels under consideration. To qualify, hotels had to demonstrate that guests were able to enjoy a wide range of activities, for body, mind and spirit, from a stunning luxury base.  The Cambrian, a member of Design Hotels and the only Mr&Mrs Smith hotel in Switzerland, was successful on account of its luxurious offering and the myriad pursuits that Adelboden has to offer year-round.
In the winter season, for example, Adelboden has the third largest ski field in Switzerland and caters for all levels of skiers, whether expert or beginner.  Snowboarding, skibocking (created in Adelboden), dog sledding, night skiing, ice hockey and curling are a few of the other activities on offer.

In summer, the mountains come alive with opportunities for walkers, mountain bikers, scooter riders, llama trekkers, yoga devotees and parapenters, as well as those who simply want to take life easy and retreat to The Cambrian Spa or take a picnic lunch up the mountains, stopping off at a mountain hut en route to purchase some fresh cheese.

In winter, room rates at The Cambrian, Adelboden start from CHF315 (approx £240) for two people sharing, per night, including breakfast and taxes; summer rates are approximately 20% lower.  Check the website ( for package details.
