From London to amber
On May 17, flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines, the Lithuanian national carrier is starting direct flights from London Stansted to Palanga, the Lithuanian resort on the “amber” coast so called because this local gold is washed up all along the beach.

Lithuania to host European Culture workshops
There are only 506 days to go before we can greet Vilnius as the European Capital of Culture 2009. The Lithuanian capital is the first city in the post-Soviet block to be awarded this distinguished status. The 20-year-old tradition, which has seen a total 30 European cities being designated European Capital of Culture, will now enable Vilnius to present its distinguished cultural identity to the world.

Baltic folklore festival comes to Vilnius
The 34th Annual International Folklore Festival will be held in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital from 23rd to 27th of May, presenting folk groups from across Europe and Asia. Concerts and performances in main city squares will feature outstanding soloists and superb ensembles. This Festival has an established overall pattern, but each festival has its own unique character.
