BA’s May punctuality sets new record
British Airways has recorded its best ever May global punctuality performance with 87 per cent of flights departing on time. The strong performance built on a good April and busy Easter period when the airline saw more than 85 per cent of flights departing on time.

Gulf Air orders Rolls-Royce engines for new A330s
Gulf Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding today with Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company. The final contract is expected to be signed at a ceremony during the Bahrain International Airshow.
Gulf Air and SNCF commence codeshare
Passengers flying to and from France with Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air can now enjoy seamless travel to nearly 20 destinations across France, thanks to a codeshare agreement between the airline and France's national railway SNFC.

Gulf Air chooses Honeywell for new Airbus fleet
National carrier Gulf Air has announced that it has chosen Honeywell Aerospace to provide fifteen 131-9A Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and a maintenance programme to its new Airbus A320 aircraft, whose deliveries are scheduled from 2009 through 2012. The contract, valued at more than $8 million, also covers maintenance through 2022.
Gulf Air launches new services to popular destinations
National carrier Gulf Air has launched summer season services to three new destinations - Aleppo, Alexandria and Salalah. In a ceremony, Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Mr. Björn Näf formally launched the services in the distinguished presence of the ambassadors and their representatives of Syria, Egypt and Oman, members of the media and leading travel agents.

Icelandair reports improved punctuality and baggage delivery
The Association of European Airlines has released data on the baggage-delivery and punctuality performance of its members for Winter 2008/9 (November-March). 28 AEA member airlines contributed punctuality data, and 26 baggage data, to the data collection which is unique in the aviation sector as a voluntary consumer-information exercise.

Lufthansa expands in Africa
Lufthansa is expanding its services in West and Central Africa and adding another new destination to its network. From 15 July 2009, the airline will fly five times per week from Frankfurt via Accra, Ghana, to Libreville, the capital of Gabon. The route will be operated by Airbus A340 and A330 aircraft with a First, Business und Economy Class cabin.
EC approves Lufthansa tie up with Brussels Airlines
Green light for Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines: the European Commission has granted regulatory approval for the tie-up of the two airlines. The decision paves the way for Lufthansa to acquire an initial 45 per cent stake in SN Airholding SA/NV, the parent company of Brussels Airlines.
