Ryanair announces new base at Porto
Ryanair has announced it will open its 33rd base at Porto (Northern Portugal) with two based aircraft and four new routes (16 in total). Ryanair will offer 50 daily return flights to/from Porto in an investment worth over $140 million.

Ryanair today (30th June 09) welcomed the publication of punctuality, flight cancelation and baggage performance statistics by the Association of European Airlines (AEA), for November ‘08 – March ‘09, which confirmed that Ryanair is Europe’s number one airline for customer service with the best on time performance, the fewest cancelations and the least lost bags.

Air France extends mobile phone boarding pass service
Air France has introduced its mobile phone boarding pass service on all flights to the French Overseas Departments (Pointe à Pitre, Fort de France, Cayenne and Saint Denis de la Réunion). This service enables customers to board their flight with no other paper document apart from their passport, on departure from Paris-Orly.

BA forges ahead with London City long haul
British Airways will launch the first ever longhaul route from London City airport in September, despite the general aviation downturn. The airline has taken the decision to press ahead with the launch and set a September 29 date for the first flights. Tickets for the twice-daily service to New York JFK are on sale now.
British Airways announces changes to winter schedule
British Airways' new winter schedule will include additional services from Gatwick to Bermuda (from five to six a week), Barbados (from nine to ten a week) and St Lucia and Port of Spain (from three to five a week).
