Delta announces new flights to Haiti
Delta Air Lines has announced new nonstop daily service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, starting June 20, 2009. The new flights are the first Delta service to Haiti since the 1950s when Delta flew from New Orleans to Port-au-Prince.
SAS and American Express enter partnership
SAS and American Express have agreed to enter into a multi-year partnership with extensive cooperation within the corporate and consumer market. SAS and American Express announce a multi-year partnership arrangement. The agreement will include co-operation across several products and customer programmes.
TAP invests in energy and environmental efficiency
TAP has taken delivery of the first of six new Airbus A320-214’s. Qantas to increase A380 services to UK and US
Qantas has announced that it will increase A380 services between Australia and both the UK and US from early June 2009. The increase will follow the delivery of the fourth Qantas A380 in May.
Qantas announces operational changes
The Qantas Group has announced changes to its New Zealand, China and India operations. Qantas Group CEO, Mr Alan Joyce, said Qantas had been closely monitoring its international operations since the global economic situation deteriorated in late 2008.
Qantas opens new centre of service excellence

Air Astana reports growth
Air Astana, the flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, continued to achieve growth in 2008, with available seat kilometers up by 16% to 7.5 billion compared to 2007. Passengers carried increased by 8% to 2.3 million. Almost 28,000 scheduled passenger flights were undertaken, with an average load factor of 64%.
airBaltic announces improved connections for summer
The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch its summer season on March 29, 2009, offering new Scandinavian and Baltic destinations. The number of flights on more than 20 popular routes will be increased substantially and flight connections improved to cater for the transit passenger.
bmibaby increases summer flights to the sun
In response to consumer demand, bmibaby has announced extra flights from the Midlands and from Manchester to the Mediterranean this summer.
