Travel fever hits Manchester

bmibaby, is celebrating the start of its new flights from Manchester to Madrid and Lisbon last month. In the first week of operating, the airline carried over 900 passengers between Manchester and the Portuguese capital and over 500 people to the Spanish capital.

bmibaby announces more winter routes

bmibaby has launched phase two of it’s winter programme from Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester Airport. The airline has introduced four new routes for the winter season: from Birmingham to Krakow, Milan Bergamo and Warsaw; from Manchester to Barcelona; from Cardiff to Barcelona and Warsaw; and from East Midlands to Warsaw.

The crew of the BA 38 have been awarded the airline's highest accolade, the BA Safety Medal, for their remarkable skill and courage. The three flight crew and 13 cabin crew have been praised for their professionalism in the handling of the incident in January when their Boeing 777 aircraft landed short of the runway at Heathrow.

Delta flies nonstop between New York and Lyon, France

Delta Air Lines this month begins service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Saint-Exupéry International Airport in Lyon, France, offering the only nonstop flight between the United States and France’s second-largest city. Through the airline’s joint venture with Air France, the new Delta flight also connects customers to 40 European destinations via Lyon.

Delta gets ready for a grand entrance into Tegucigalpa

Delta Air Lines will launch the first-ever nonstop daily flights between Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Toncontin Airport in Honduras’ capital city of Tegucigalpa, starting December 18, 2008 (subject to foreign government approval). The new flights will be operated using brand-new Boeing 737-700 aircraft being delivered to Delta this year that will allow the addition of service at unique airports such as Tegucigalpa with short runways, extreme temperatures and high altitudes.

easyJet announces two new routes from Manchester

easyJet, Europe's leading low-fares airline, today unveiled plans to launch two new routes from Manchester this winter to Sofia (Bulgaria) and Geneva (Switzerland). The new Sofia route which will commence on 11 December and the new Geneva route on 12 December, will be available from just £33.99 one way and £29.99 one way respectively.
