Virgin Atlantic launches extra Xmas services to Montego Bay

Virgin Atlantic Airways announced today that it would be launching five additional services between London and Montego Bay during the winter period of this year in response to high demand for flights over the Christmas and New Year period. The additional direct flights between London Gatwick and Montego Bay will operate on an Airbus A340-300.

Ryanair to sue European Commission

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, announced yesterday that it will sue the European Commission in the European Courts for its repeated failure to take action on a number of State Aid complaints involving Air France, Lufthansa, Alitalia and Olympic Airways, which were submitted to the Commission over a year ago.

Ryanair introduces 94 extra flights from Dublin in August

Green flights over the Atlantic with SAS this autumn

During the latter part of 2007, SAS will begin green flights over the Atlantic, primarily from the east coast of the US to Stockholm/Arlanda. The flights will be made on Airbus A330’s.

SAS increases traffic to China

SAS Scandinavian Airlines will increase its frequencies between Scandinavia and China for the summer 2008 programme. As of April 2008, SAS will operate 13 weekly services between Scandinavia and China, an addition of three weekly departures.

TAP reinforces investment in Check-in online

From June 27, TAP check-in online will also be available to passengers traveling with stowed baggage. This new option will also not only be available on departures from Continental Portugal, Madeira*, The Azores*, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, but also on departures from London, Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna and Oslo, on the entire TAP network (except the USA).

The TAP fleet now numbers 49 units, a new absolute record, with the entry into service of its fourth A330 registered under CS-TOH and known as the “Nuno Goncalves” in honor of the great 15th Century Portuguese painter.
