SAS launches new business route to London
Now Norwegians can also fly direct to the heart of London. SAS Braathens is to launch a new route to London City Airport. London City Airport is situated only ten kilometers from the City of London, which is one of Europe's leading financial centers. Many banks, stock-broking firms and law firms have their headquarters here.
SWISS customers support Children’s Village in Phuket
SWISS customers are helping to build an SOS Children’s Village near Phuket in Thailand, thanks to their generosity last year. The money was raised through the “Your small change can make a big change” campaign, under which SWISS collects donations aboard its flights for the benefit of disadvantaged children.
Avianca acquires fleet of Boeing 737-800 Dreamliners
As part of a process of fleet modernisation, the Colombian airline, Avianca has announced an order for 10 Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner aircraft direct from the manufacturer. Seven of the the new aircraft will be used on Avianca's transatlantic routes from Bogota to Madrid and Barcelona as well as it's long haul routes to the US, Brasil and Chile. The remaining three aircraft will be utilised by other members of the Synergy group of airlines.
More long haul capacity for TAP
Flights to Luanda in Angola will increase to 6 weekly from 28 April with the introduction of a Saturday service and to a daily operation from 03 July with the introduction of a Tuesday service.

TAP increases daily flights to Luanda
TAP will start up its seventh flight a week to Luanda beginning this July, the month in which it begins operating daily flights between Lisbon and the Angolan capital. Currently running five flights a week, the airline company will begin operating a sixth flight a week on Saturdays from April 28.

United Airlines begins first direct Washington to Beijing service
Following months of intense competition for the new route between the U.S. and China, United Airlines yesterday flew the first-ever, non-stop service between Washington, D.C., and Beijing. The service will enable Washington, D.C., to join 28 other world capitals in offering nonstop service to Beijing.

Virgin Atlantic launches Film Festival in the Sky!
Virgin Atlantic has joined forces with the National Film and Television School to showcase new film making talent onboard in its own Film Festival in the Sky. Over the next four months Virgin Atlantic will be screening 14 specially selected short films on its inflight entertainment system. Passengers can watch the films during their flight and then vote until the end of June to compile a shortlist of six films that will be shown onboard for a further three months.

bmi launches new international route for Manchester
Aberdeen-based bmi regional, officially the UK’s most punctual airline, today announced another new international air route from Manchester. Starting 25 May, a direct daily service will link Manchester and the French city of Lyon, providing a much needed non-stop flight connection between the two cities.
Monarch Airlines rolls-out online check-in
Monarch has today, 27 March 2007, rolled out online check-in at Luton Airport, which means that all passengers travelling on scheduled flights from Monarch’s UK bases - Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick and Luton - may now check-in online for their flights via flymonarch.com.
