New greener aircraft for KLM

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ first Boeing 737 with winglets arrived at Schiphol Airport on Saturday, March 17, 2007. The Boeing 737-800 PH-BXV was delivered to KLM at the Boeing plant in Seattle on Friday, March 16. Winglets are vertical wingtips that improve the aerodynamics of an aircraft, reducing fuel consumption and related CO2 emissions.

From 25 March, Spanair will link the city of Pamplona with Madrid, offering 3 daily flights from Monday to Friday, with times adapted to the requirements of business travellers, and one weekend flight each-way.

BA launches summer schedule

British Airways is launching four new routes from London Gatwick airport this summer including its first new long-haul destination from the airport for six years. New destinations include Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, Dresden in Germany, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and new daily flights to Newquay.

The latest ‘Lufthansa Long Weekend’ will coincide with the launch of the Summer timetable, offering even more connections to some of the most popular onward destinations for the airline’s UK passengers. On the 10th of April, Spanair will increase operations on the Madrid-Gerona route, launched on the 29th of January 2007, offering 3 daily weekday flights between the two cities, with times adapted to the requirements of business passengers. Likewise, the weekend service on this route is also being improved, with an increased Sunday service.

Major road works near Bournemouth Airport

Thomsonfly .com is warning passengers of major roadworks taking place on the A338 (Spur Road) - starting on 17th February and lasting for six weeks. Passengers are advised to expect significant delays for the duration of these works, particularly at peak times and are strongly advised to leave additional travel time to get to/from Bournemouth Airport.
