Ryanair announces new plans for Shannon Airport

Ryanair has announced that it will launch two new routes and twenty-six more weekly flights from Shannon Airport from November. Ryanair will base a sixth aircraft in Shannon which will allow it to launch two new routes - to Frankfurt-Hahn and Newcastle - and twenty-six more weekly frequencies to destinations like Bristol, Edinburgh and Paris.

Ryanair extends free seat sale

Ryanair has extended its 1 Million free seat sale until 5pm today, Friday 26 September. This follows its record bookings over the past two days as passengers rushed to snap up free seats all over Europe in October and November.

Ryanair postpones Reus base opening

Ryanair has announced the postponement of the opening of its Reus base by five weeks. The deferral of the opening from its original date of the 1st October to a new date of 5th November is as a result of the strike by Boeing employees in Seattle which has resulted in the indefinite delay of the shipment of new aircraft to Ryanair.

Ryanair calls on BAA to sell Stansted

Ryanair has called on the BAA airport monopoly to comply with the UK Competition Authority’s preliminary findings, and put Stansted and at least one of the Scottish airports up for sale immediately.

Ryanair postpones seventh aircraft based at Bergamo

Ryanair, Europe’s leading low fares airline, today, 12th September, announced the postponement of the basing of its seventh aircraft at Bergamo by four weeks. The deferral of the aircraft from its original date of the 1st October to a new date of 29th October is as a result of the strike by Boeing employees in Seattle which has resulted in the indefinite delay of the shipment of new aircraft to Ryanair.

Ryanair announces postponement Edinburgh Base

Ryanair has announced that it has had to postpone the opening of its Edinburgh base as a result of strike action at airplane manufacturer Boeing. The six week deferral of the opening, from 23rd September to 5th November is as a result of Boeing being unable to deliver the new aircraft Ryanair has purchased to operate on its new Edinburgh routes.

Ryanair announces new routes from Liverpool, East Midlands & Stansted

Ryanair has announced the launch of a three routes from the UK which will connect Liverpool and East Midlands with Paris (Beauvais) and London Stansted with Agadir in Morocco. Ryanair will operate daily services to Paris (Beauvais) from Liverpool from 3rd November and East Midlands from 28th October while Ryanair’s London Stansted service will offer a twice weekly return service to Agadir.

Ryanair announced today that its passenger numbers continue to grow as Ryanair carried almost 5.8 million passengers in August, a 19% (940,000 passenger) increase when compared to August 2007. Ryanair has carried over 55 million passengers in the year to August 2008.
