Volvo to start distribution of Nissan light commercial vehicles
Volvo Truck and Bus Limited and Nissan Motors GB have agreed on the conditions to start the distribution of two of Nissan’s Light Commercial Vehicles through its wholly-owned dealers.
Volvo adds EGR exhaust gas recirculation to 13-litre engine
Volvo Trucks is widening its engine range with the launch of a D13 engine featuring EGR exhaust gas recirculation. The engine is available in four power output levels and is certified for current emission requirements according to Euro 4 – but without after-treatment of exhaust gases. Volvo is the first truck manufacturer in the world with this solution.

Volvo launches self-sealing tyres for construction trucks
The Volvo Group, in close co-operation with Goodyear Dunlop, has launched self-sealing tyres for construction trucks. These tyres, with Duraseal technology, automatically seal the damage – permanently.
Volvo invests in new production facility for trucks in Russia
The Volvo Group is investing a total of SEK 935 M in an assembly facility for trucks in Russia. The investment is being made to meet increasing demand on the fast-growing markets in Russia and the former countries in the Soviet Union. The new facility will have a capacity of 10,000 Volvo trucks and 5,000 Renault trucks per year.

Early delivery seals the deal for Stralis
Bedford-based Universal Vehicle Solutions has taken delivery of eight new Iveco Stralis Active Time double-deck car transporters from local distributor TC Harrison, marking the first Iveco’s to join its 130-strong commercial vehicle fleet.

80th anniversary truck launched with new safety systems
Just in time for Volvo’s 80th anniversary, Volvo Trucks is unveiling an exclusive ‘limited edition’ jubilee version of the Volvo FH and FH16 models. For example, the ‘Anniversary’ truck is the first Volvo truck with Lane Keeping Support -a new system that alerts the driver if the truck accidentally strays from its lane.
Reduced accident risk with Volvo’s active safety system
Since 2001, fatal accidents on the European road network have dropped by about 20 percent. The EU target is to halve this figure by 2010. One way of reducing risks in traffic is to integrate accident-preventive active safety systems into the vehicles themselves.
