Baby boomers take travel experiences to a new level

5th May 2011 Print

“65 is the new 45” and that means trekking, zip-lining and bike tours are no longer off limits. A study conducted by Preferred Hotel Group, in conjunction with YPartnership, found that baby boomers want to take their travel experiences to a new level, where experiential, active and thematic travel is at the top of their lists.

Not willing to be relegated to a bus tour, the 77-million-strong U.S. baby boomer generation is proving they are young-at-heart with a passion for active experiences in global destinations.

To honor this iconic generation, the first of whom turned 65 on January 1, 2011, nearly 100 Preferred Hotel Group members worldwide are offering Time to Celebrate offers now through May 31, 2011, which include:

• A two-night stay with first night at published room rate (two-night minimum/maximum stay)
• Second night at £40 ($65)
• Offer valid for two-night stays only (maximum one night at £40 allowed per stay, per guest or party). The initial rate displayed may be an average daily rate. Please check the daily pricing breakdown for rate details.

Whether it is exploring the temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia, or taking a camel safari through the scenic hills in Udaipur, India, select Preferred Hotel Group members are offering baby boomers very special rates for world-class accommodations, fine dining, spa and a multitude of exciting activities. Below is a sampling of “Time to Celebrate” offers available throughout the world. For a complete list, please visit: phgoffers.com/babyboomer
