Following the international debut of the Octavia Scout at September’s Paris Motor Show, Skoda Auto is proud to announce the Roomster Scout - a brand new version of the compact MPV. It’s the second vehicle in the rugged Scout family and shares the Octavia’s robust looks and tough exterior.

500,000 cars built in 2006 – Skoda reaches production milestone

This is no ordinary Skoda Roomster – it’s a record-breaker. When it rolled off the production line earlier this week it became the 500,000th Skoda to be built this year, which is an all-time record for the innovative Czech firm.

October sales put rivals out in the cold

No surprises here – Skoda is enjoying a spectacular end to the year. Winter may have arrived with a bang, but Skoda order books show no sign of cooling off. October sales were up 6.8% compared to 2005 – comfortably outperforming an overall car market that registered a barely noticeable 0.9% increase.

The company car is set to be revolutionised over the next 40 years, according to respected think-tank, Centre for Future Studies. In a report commissioned by Skoda, fleet vehicles are to become a “virtual colleague” to company car drivers by 2050.

Skoda and Volkswagen lay foundation stone for new plant in Russia

Skoda executives joined the Russian Minister of Economy, German Gref, in laying the foundation stone for Volkswagen and Skoda's new manufacturing plant in Kaluga, Russia. Volkswagen Group Board of Directors’ Chairman Bernd Pischetsrieder and Skoda Auto Chairman Detlef Wittig took part in the symbolic opening of the plant on Saturday 28 October. The plant construction agreements were signed on May 29, 2006 in Moscow.

Skoda strengthens positions in key markets

With a total of 52,064 vehicles delivered to customers this September, Skoda Auto has achieved the best September result in its entire history and continues the precedent set with the excellent sales achieved over the past year. The company sold 410,719 vehicles to its customers over the first nine months of 2006 (the Fabia, Octavia and Superb lines, as well as the new Roomster), 11.1% more than this period in 2005.

Skoda Auto is to set up a third shift for the Roomster production in its Kvasiny plant as of 22 November this year. Demand for Skoda's fourth model line is increasing and the vehicle has become popular very quickly with customers. The initially estimated production figures have been updated to match the number of orders collected by dealers. As a result, Skoda Auto is planning to produce over 20,000 Roomsters by the end of this year.
