The amount of money spent in 2006 on making films in the UK such as The Golden Age, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Atonement, and His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass jumped by 48% to £840.1 million making it the second best year ever, new figures from the UK Film Council reveal this week.
