Figures released by the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) show that Aer Arann was the third largest carrier at Dublin Airport in 2007, after the 'big two'. Aer Arann carried 567,000 passengers to/from Dublin Airport in 2007, a 9% increase on 2006.

Aer Lingus announces new route from Belfast to Paris

Aer Lingus Group plc today announced a new service from Belfast International to Paris, Charles de Gaulle beginning 30 March. The new service will operate on a daily basis with fares as low as £25 one-way including taxes and charges.

airBaltic reports increases passenger numbers for January

The Latvian airline airBaltic carried 151,395 passengers in January 2008, or 34% more than in the same month in 2007, when airBaltic flew 112,866 passengers. As for flights originating from Riga, the number of passengers in January saw a 37% increase, whereas the market share for Riga grew to 45.8% (or 4.8% growth on a year earlier).

The Branson-owned airline came top in a poll carried out by guidebook publishers Rough Guides with over a third of respondents (36%) voting Virgin the most child-friendly airline.
