Ryanair announces new routes and lowest fares

Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline has announces eight new routes from Dusseldorf to Fuerteventura, Malaga, Marrakesh, Milan, Seville, Trapani (Sicily), Valencia and Vaxjo (Sweden). Ryanair has also launched its European price Guarantee. If passengers find a cheaper fare on the same route with any other airline, they will be entitled to double the difference between the two fares.

Spanair linking Bilbao and Munich

On May 10, Bilbao played host to numerous events to celebrate the launch of the Spanair route linking the Biscayan and Bavarian capitals, which was inaugurated on the 15th of April.

SWISS puts additional family aircraft into operation

SWISS added a further Airbus A320 to its European fleet today. The aircraft, which bears the registration HB-IJH, took off from Zurich shortly after 07:00 this morning for Madrid on its first revenue flight. The arrival of the new transport concludes the expansion of the SWISS European Airbus fleet which was announced last autumn, and which has seen the company add five more A320-family aircraft to its European operations.

Copa Airlines adds Argentina service

Copa Airlines has announced it will begin a new service from Panama and connecting cities in Latin America to Cordoba, Argentina, starting on August 15, 2007. Cordoba will be Copa’s second destination in Argentina. Copa also has two daily flights to Buenos Aires from Panama.

May 4 saw the launch of Air Southwest’s new flights from Newquay to Cork with fares starting from just £27 including taxes. Air Southwest is offering up to four flights weekly to Cork, with a flight time of just 50 minutes.

Flybe commits to environmentally sensitive fleet

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed a US$788 million deal with Bombardier Aerospace that will see the airline acquire 15 Q400, 78-seat aircraft over the next two years, with an option for 15 more. The order will result in Flybe having a total of 60 Q400s, confirming the airline as the world’s largest operator of the aircraft.

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline today (Wednesday, 9th May 2007) launched 10 million seats across Europe from just £10 including taxes – its biggest ever seat sale. From today all of Ryanair’s fares will be quoted inclusive of taxes, including the current £10 offer on Ryanair.com.
