Virgin Nigeria moves operations at Gatwick

Virgin Nigeria today announced that it is moving its Gatwick operation from the airport’s South Terminal to the North Terminal, Zone B. Virgin Nigeria will commence full operations from the North Terminal on 1 May 2007. This move will enable passengers connecting to and from Europe and North America to transit far more easily to their Virgin Nigeria flights from Gatwick.

SAS Braathens to be renamed SAS Norge

SAS Braathens, Norway's largest scheduled airline, will become SAS Norge on June 1. The name change, which was proposed by SAS Braathens' CEO Ola Strand, was approved by the company's general assembly this afternoon.

BA longhaul fuel surcharge increased

British Airways is to increase its longhaul fuel surcharge with effect from Wednesday May 2, 2007 as a result of recent trends in the price of oil. The fuel surcharge on longhaul flights of less than nine hours will rise from £30 per sector (£60 return) to £33 (£66 return) and from £35 per sector to £38 (£76 return) on flights longer than nine hours.

TAP launches freighter service from Gatwick
