The Milton Keynes Lions basketball squad has teamed up with the Wayside retailer group to launch the Groove Truck, a new Volkswagen Crafter which will help deliver the Lions’ Community Programmes in schools and parishes in and around Milton Keynes. The lavishly decaled van, which is the long wheelbase high roof version with a 136 bhp engine, was handed to the MK Lions’ Chief Executive, Vince Macaulay, at the Xscape building in Milton Keynes on 2nd September.

The UK’s largest breakdown organisation, the AA, has strengthened its roadside recovery fleet with an order for 200 Volkswagen Transporters. The vans will operate all over the country helping to provide emergency assistance to the AA’s 15 million members. The new Transporters have been acquired through Lombard Vehicle Management on a four-year operating lease. The total retail value of the order is in the region of £3 million.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced prices for its new Crafter van which was revealed to the public at the CV Show in March and will go on sale in September. Prices start at £15,300 (basic RRP excl VAT and on the road costs) for the CR30 short wheelbase panel van with 88 PS; that’s £500 less than the entry-level LT which the Crafter replaces.
