Cumbria gets ready for major street arts festival
A Cumbrian town is gearing up for one of the region’s biggest and brightest street arts festivals. Around 200 performers from across the world will take to the stages, streets and parks of Kendal between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st August in a series of exciting and unusual performances for the Mintfest international street arts festival.

Time to get the beers in!
Now in its fifth year, Oktoberfest at Bavarian Beerhouse brings the spirit of the ‘Wiesn’ beer festival from Munich to London. A staggering 25,000 guests have taken part in Oktoberfest at Bavarian Beerhouse since the event started in 2004, and this year, 10,000 Londoners are forecast to join the party, taking place seven weekends in a row from 18 September until 1 November 2008.

Shoreditch Festival announces vibrant music programme
The Shoreditch Festival, now in its 7th year, has announced one of the most exciting and musically diverse line-ups that will grace any festival all year and it all takes place on The Lift Main Stage and the Rising Tide EQ Stage, on Saturday 16 August in Shoreditch Park – the free opening day of the festival.

Ghost hunters converge in Evesham
A cellar monk, green mists, strange breezes and dragging sounds are among the things members of the public will hopefully experience in Evesham next month. Fright Nights, the UK’s leading ghost hunt specialist, will be holding two Ghost Fairs and an overnight Ghost Hunt at haunted locations in Evesham, Worcestershire. It would seem the residents of Evesham are already fascinated with ghosts that haunt the festival town. Tickets for one particular Ghost Hunt to be held at Salford Hall on 19 September has already sold out.
Award-winning pub announces music nights
Due to the success of the live music nights held at The Granville @ Barford, the award winning pub is delighted to announce four more music dates in the calendar. The Granville will be playing host to ‘Carter Chapman’ on Sunday 17 August, ‘The Phoenix Rock n Roll Band’ on Sunday 21 September, ‘The Curious Things’ on Sunday 26 October and ‘Kel Elliott’ on Sunday 30 November.

WOMAD celebrates a successful 2008 festival
