Jenny Packham wins Best British Bridal Designer

Jenny Packham has won Best British Bridal Designer at Bridal Buyer Awards, a key event in the bridal industry’s calendar that celebrates excellence in bridal retail, design, and manufacturing, which took place in Harrogate International Centre on 10 March 2008. The awards have grown significantly in the past year, with over 500 attendees compared to last year’s 300.

Debenhams were delighted to be awarded the coveted title of ‘Best One Stop Shop’ Cosmopolitan’s inaugural Online Fashion Awards took place on 6th March 2008 at The Roof Gardens in Kensington.

H&M has signed an agreement to acquire the privately owned Swedish fashion company Fabric Scandinavien AB that is running the store chains Weekday and Monki. The Group also designs and sells fashion through a number of own brands, such as Cheap Monday.

Vivienne Westwood returns to London after an absence of almost a decade to show her A/W 2008 Red Label collection thanks to the invitation and support of the British Fashion Council. Carlo D'Amario, Managing Director of Vivienne Westwood explains: “I think there has recently been a definite shift in focus towards Europe with regards to the global business of prêt-a-porter distribution lines targeted at the younger market.
