Lufthansa launches non-stop service to Angola

Lufthansa is continuing to extend its route network to growth markets in Africa. On 1 April 2008, following the introduction of the summer timetable, a new service will be launched between Frankfurt and the Angolan capital, Luanda. The non-stop route will be operated once a week by an Airbus 340-300 with 221 seats.

Lufthansa flights to two new destinations in China

Lufthansa is expanding its route network from three to five destinations in China in the year of the Olympic summer games in Peking. Starting summer 2008 it will then be laying on the first flights by a European airline to route newcomers Nanjing from Frankfurt and Shenyang from Munich alongside its existing services to Peking, Shanghai and Guangzhou (Canton).

Munich will be Lufthansa’s “football hub” for 2008

Lufthansa launches Miles & More credit card

Lufthansa is offering an enhanced mode of transacting cashless purchases to holders of a German Lufthansa Miles & More credit card. In cooperation with the BayernLB bank and its wholly-owned Deutsche Kreditbank AG subsidiary, Miles & More and MasterCard are issuing a new generation Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card to all existing German card holders from January 2008.

German Football Federation flies on with Lufthansa

Lufthansa has underscored its commitment to football by penning a renewed deal as official partner of the German Football Federation (DFB). At a joint press conference in Frankfurt today, the airline and DFB announced that they are extending their cooperation agreement for a further three-year term.

Lufthansa launches flights to Newark

With the start of the winter timetable, Lufthansa has launched a new flight that will land at Newark, only ten kilometres from the Big Apple, at 11.20 hrs local time. Until 31 March 2008, passengers travelling on this flight can also book a free helicopter or limousine service from the airport to Manhattan.

Lufthansa to launch new Billund service

To mark the 50th anniversary of its first flight to Denmark, Lufthansa has important news for its Scandinavian neighbour. From the end of March 2008, western Denmark will be linked to the airline’s worldwide route network with a service that will be operated for the first time by Lufthansa itself. Flights will connect Billund Airport in Central Jutland to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub three times a day.
