In 1502 silver was discovered in what is now known as the Val d’Argent and people travelled from all over Europe in the hope of striking it rich. Although many of them used only divining rods to seek their fortune there were plenty of success stories. One prospector even discovered a block of silver weighing 592 kg!

Baltic folklore festival comes to Vilnius
The 34th Annual International Folklore Festival will be held in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital from 23rd to 27th of May, presenting folk groups from across Europe and Asia. Concerts and performances in main city squares will feature outstanding soloists and superb ensembles. This Festival has an established overall pattern, but each festival has its own unique character.

A ‘Like for Like’ statement in January 2006 and 2007 shows the value of bookings has gone from £5,000 in January 06 to £19,000 in 2007.
